Muscle Imbalance (e.g., Core Weakness)

Post-total hip replacement rehab addresses stiffness, weakness after surgery, common in arthritis patients. Symptoms: hip pain, limited ROM, swelling. Untreated, risks poor function.

Home Exercise Protocol

  • Week 1-2:

  • Seated Leg Slide (2 sets, 12 reps): Slide leg forward/back, seated.

  • Glute Squeeze (2 sets, 12 reps): Tighten glutes, hold 5 sec.

  • NovaWell Hack: “Renewal Glide” (2 sets, 10 reps): Abduct leg 5°, hold 3 sec.
     

  • Week 3-4:

  • Band Side Step (2 sets, 12 reps): Step sideways with band.

  • Seated Hip Flexion (2 sets, 12 reps): Lift knee, hold chair.

  • NovaWell Hack: “Hip Pulse” (2 sets, 10 reps): Pulse leg 2 inches out with band.

Objective: Regain ROM, strengthen hip, improve function
