Concussion-Related Musculoskeletal Issues
(e.g., Neck Stiffness)
Concussion-related neck stiffness stems from trauma, common in contact sports. Symptoms: tight neck, headaches, limited ROM. Caused by muscle guarding, joint strain. Untreated, risks chronic tension.
Home Exercise Protocol

Week 1-2:

Chin Tuck (2 sets, 10 reps): Pull chin back, hold 5 sec.

Towel Stretch (2 sets, 15 sec): Pull towel gently behind head.

NovaWell Hack: “Recovery Glide” (2 sets, 10 reps): Nod head 5°, hold 3 sec.

Week 3-4:

Isometric Neck Press (2 sets, 10 sec/side): Press head into hand, no movement.

Seated Rotation (2 sets, 10 reps): Turn head side-to-side slowly.

NovaWell Hack: “Neck Pulse” (2 sets, 10 reps): Pulse head 2° in rotation.
Objective: Ease stiffness, restore ROM, strengthen neck
